RVL Ritanol Sensitive

Regular price 1.7 fl oz , $160.00 $0.00

Sensitive PM Retinol Serum. A nighttime retinol serum formulated for sensitive skin. This is for the woman who has tried retinol before and stopped. My 0.3% Sensitive Ritanol delivers the clinical results. Bakuchiol and a ceramide complex work alongside it to protect the barrier, so the skin gets the renewal without the fallout of retinization.

Best for

For the customer who knows she should be using a retinol but has stopped before — because of redness, peeling, the morning-after tightness that made her quit. Ritanol Sensitive was formulated to make that history irrelevant. The retinol is real (0.3%, the strength most dermatologists prescribe as a starting clinical dose). The bakuchiol delivers a separate retinol-like signal through a different cellular pathway. The ceramide complex restores the barrier on the same nights the actives are working it.

Visibly improves the appearance of fine lines, tone, and texture with consistent use, while supporting barrier comfort throughout the retinization period.

Indicated for sensitive skin, post-procedure skin, and any patient new to retinol. PM only.

NOT INDICATED during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or while trying to conceive.

Key ingredients

0.3% Retinol, the clinical-strength entry dose of pure retinol; supports cellular turnover, helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, and visibly improves tone and texture with consistent nightly use
Bakuchiol, a plant-derived compound that signals the skin through a separate retinol-like pathway, delivering complementary anti-aging benefits with significantly less of the irritation associated with retinol alone
Ceramide Complex (Ceramide 1, 3, 6 II + Phytosphingosine + Cholesterol), the five-component lipid system the stratum corneum is naturally built from; restores the barrier on the same nights retinol is breaking it down
Sodium Hyaluronate, low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid that delivers hydration into the upper layers of the skin and offsets the dryness retinoids can produce
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), a lipid-phase antioxidant that supports the skin's overnight repair processes and protects the formula's actives from oxidation

How to use

Regimen: PM only.

Apply at night, on clean dry skin, before moisturizer. Four to six pumps for the face, neck, chest, and décolletage. Avoid the immediate eye area and the corners of the mouth. Always use sunscreen the following morning.

FIRST-TIME RETINOL TITRATION SCHEDULE:

  • Weeks 1-2: Two nights per week, separated by at least two days.
  • Weeks 3-4: Every other night.
  • Week 5+: Nightly, as tolerated.

If skin gets reactive, drop back one step until it calms. Retinol is a long game; there is no prize for going faster.

IMPORTANT: Not for use during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or while trying to conceive.

Why Dr. Linkner loves it

Most patients don't fail at retinol because the molecule doesn't work. They fail at retinol because the irritation gets in the way of consistency, and consistency is the only thing that delivers the result. The first six weeks are where everyone quits. By the time the actual benefit shows up at week eight or ten, half my patients have already shelved the bottle.

Ritanol Sensitive was built to remove that first-six-weeks problem. The 0.3% retinol delivers the clinical signal. The bakuchiol layers a complementary anti-aging mechanism. The ceramide complex repairs the barrier on the same nights the retinol is working it. Not in sequence. In parallel.

This is the retinol I prescribe to the patient who has tried retinol and quit. It is also the retinol I prescribe to patients during the four to six weeks after a procedure, when standard retinoids would be too aggressive. And it is the retinol I recommend to anyone with reactive skin who has been told for years that retinol just isn't for her. It is. The formulation has caught up.
