Acne Prone
Routine

Acne originates from the sebaceous oil glands which are most concentrated on the face, neck, and upper torso. There are two main types of mild to moderate acne: comedonal versus papulopustular acne. The comedonal version is actually the good-type of acne to have because whiteheads and blackheads are very responsive to topicals. When it comes to preventing comedones, the skincare goal is to chose actives that control oil-production. When it comes to treating active whitehead/blackheads, I like to use ingredients that are anti-inflammatory as well as anti-bacterial. The last and probably hardest step to curate for an acne-prone patient are products that brighten out the skin without being too exfoliating. Severe acne should always be treated in conjunction with a Board-certified Dermatologist.
